Command Sergeant Major Sue-Ellyn S. Baker is a native from the island of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. She migrated to the United States of America in May of 2000 at the age of 19 and joined the United States Army on August 1st of that same year. She enlisted as a 75B, Administrative Specialist and attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and Advance Individual Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.
Command Sergeant Major Baker’s previous assignments include the 1ST Cavalry Division G1 Sergeant Major, Fort Hood, Tx; the Southern European Task Force, Africa, Vicenza, Italy; Human Resources Command (North), Military Pay Transition Branch, Indianapolis, Indiana; the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, Fort Bliss, Texas; 95th Civil Affairs Brigade, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; United States Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; 9th Military Information Support Battalion, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; 94th Military Police Battalion, Camp Humphreys, Korea; Noncommissioned Officer Academy, Fort Jackson, South Carolina; 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; 82nd Paratroopers Support Battalion, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; 6th Ordnance Battalion, Camp Carroll, Korea; and 177th Military Police Detachment, Fort Drum, New York. While assigned to the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, Sergeant Major Baker deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring freedom as a Human Resources Sergeant.

She holds an Associate Degree in Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources Management, magna cum laude, from Park University. Command Sergeant Major Baker has also completed her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Management from Excelsior College. She holds a certification as a Professional in Human Resources and a Senior Professional in Human Resources from the Human Resources Certification Institute.
