Colonel Jeremiah D. Pope received his commission in May 2000, through the Army ROTC Program at Texas State University. He is a graduate of the Adjutant General Officer Basic and Captains’ Career Courses, the Combined Arms Services and Staff School, Command and General Staff College, and the United States War College.
Prior to his assignment to U.S. Army NATO Brigade, he was assigned as the Deputy Chief of Staff (FWD) V Corps at Camp Kościuszko in Poznan, Poland.
Previous non-command assignments include service as 2d Infantry Division G1 Readiness Officer, Camp Red Cloud Korea; MEPS Operations Officer, Dallas, Texas; 14th Transportation Battalion S1; Southern European Task Force G1 Enlisted Strength Manager; Secretary of General Staff, and CG’s Aide, Vicenza Italy; Training with Industry (Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control), Grand Prairie, Texas; 3d Infantry Regimental S1 (Old Guard) Fort Myer, Virginia; XVIII Airborne Corps Strength Manager, G1 Plans and Operations Chief; Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Army North Deputy G1, Fort Sam Houston, Texas; Chief of Soldier Support Branch, Human Resources Command, Fort Knox, Kentucky.
COL Pope's command assignments include: 23 months as Commander, Delta Detachment, 510th Personnel Services Battalion, Vicenza, Italy; 24 months as Commander; San Antonio Military Entrance Processing Station, San Antonio, Texas; and 24 months as the Commander, 2d Infantry Division Special Troops Battalion, Camp Humphreys, Korea.
COL Pope holds a Master's Degree in Strategic Studies from the Army War College; a Master's Degree in Human Resource Management from Webster University; a Bachelor of Science in Advanced Management from Texas State University; and an Associate's Degree in Applied Science in Legal Studies from San Antonio College.
His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defenses Meritorious Service Medal with 1 OLC, Meritorious Service Medal with 5 OLC, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal with 2 OLC, Joint Service Achievement medal with 1 OLC, Army Achievement Medal, Parachutist Badge, and various other decorations.
