COL Troy V. Alexander

Brigade Commander

Colonel Troy Alexander is a native of Riverside, California and a recent graduate of the United States Army War College, Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania. He received his commission through the Army ROTC early commissioning program at New Mexico Military Institute in 1995, where he graduated as a distinguished military student.

He then attended California State University-San Bernardino, Calif., and upon graduation in May 1998, he entered active duty as an Adjutant General Officer with branch detail in the Infantry. He is a graduate of the Infantry Officer Basic Course, the Adjutant General Career (Advanced) Course, the Bradley Leaders Course, Airborne School, the Security Cooperation Overseas Management Course, the Joint and Combined Warfighting School, and the Recruiting Operations and Command Courses.

Prior to his arrival at Carlisle Barracks, he was assigned as Chief, Enlisted Force Sustainment Division, U.S. Army Human Resources Command, responsible for supporting 41% of the active enlisted force, and executing worldwide assignments for Soldiers to support Army Readiness. Previous non-command assignments include a variety of multinational, joint and interagency environments; notably Sinai, Egypt; Iraq; United Arab Emirates; Washington, DC; and Germany.

His command assignments include: Commander, HHC, 1st Support Battalion (Egypt); Commander, Redlands Company, U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion - Southern California (Mission Viejo); Commander, U.S. Military Entrance Processing Station (New Orleans); Headquarters Commandant, U.S. Africa Command; Commander, U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion - Southern California (Mission Viejo).

Colonel Alexander holds a Master of Arts degree from Webster University, a post-graduate certificate in International Relations, and is credentialed as a Senior Professional in Human Resources and a Project Management Professional. He is also a 2022 graduate of US Army War College, where he earned a Masters in Strategic Studies. 

Colonel Alexander's military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal with two OLC, Meritorious Service Medal with one OLC, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal and various unit and service medals and ribbons. Also, he has earned the Expert Infantryman’s Badge and the Parachutist Badge.

COL Alexander is married and has three children.
