Lieutenant Colonel Natalie L. Meng is from Oregon, Missouri and was commissioned in the U.S. Army through the Reserve Officers' Training Corps after graduating from the University of Missouri-Columbia as a Distinguished Military Graduate in May 2007. She was initially branch detailed as a Chemical Corps Officer for three years before transitioning to her basic branch, the Adjutant General Corps.
LTC Meng served in numerous leadership and staff positions from the platoon level to the Department of the Army. After graduation from Chemical Officer Basic Course and Basic Officer Leader Course II, she was assigned as the RECCE Platoon Leader and subsequently the Battalion S1 in the 1st Special Troops Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Following her assignment in the 101st ABN DIV (AASLT), including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, she attended the Adjutant General Advanced Course. Her subsequent assignments include Executive Officer to the Deputy Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Army and later Assistance Executive Officer to the Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Army; Officer Promotions Policy Officer, Directorate of Military Personnel Management, Army G-1; and Training and Development Officer, General Officer Management Office, Pentagon, Washington, DC; Regiment S1, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, United States Army Special Operations Aviation Command, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; and SO2 G1 Personnel Operations Officer, Allied Rapid Reaction Corps, Imjin Barracks, United Kingdom.
LTC Meng’s education includes a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Master of Arts Degree from Webster University. Her military education includes Chemical Officer Basic Corps, Adjutant General’s Officer Advanced Course, Army Command and General Staff College, NATO Operations Planning Course, Air Assault and Airborne Schools, and Officer Green Platoon.
