AFSOUTH Command Sergeant Major

Command Sergeant Major Yveline Symonette is a native of Brooklyn, New York and entered the United States Army in August 1996. She attended Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson, SC then graduated as a 75H Personnel Specialist.

CSM Symonette’s previous assignments include Personnel Administrative Specialist, HQ 554th Engineer BN, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Headquarters and Headquarters Company V Corps, Heidelberg, Germany; Personnel Administrative Noncommissioned Officer, 510th Personnel Support Battalion, Detachment B, Heidelberg, Germany; Senior Human Resources Sergeant, 3rd Sustainment Brigade, Fort Stewart, Georgia; Professional Development Noncommissioned Officer, Human Resources Command, Fort Knox, Kentucky; G-1 Senior Human Resources Sergeant, 8th Army G-1, Yongsan, South Korea; First Sergeant, Knoxville Military Entrance Processing Station, Knoxville, Tennessee; G-1 Sergeant Major, US Army Alaska, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. CSM Symonette served in various deployments, Taszar, Hungary; Camp Wolf, Kuwait; Bagram, Afghanistan and Forward Operating Base Q West, Iraq.

CSM Symonette’s military and civilian education includes Warrior Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Small Arms Course, Senior Leader Course, Combat Life Saver Course, Leader Team Awareness Course; United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, Cold Weather Leaders Course, BN Pre-Command Course, and CSM Development Program. She also earned holds an Associate Degree in General Studies from Central Texas College; Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Cappella University; Master Degree in Organizational Leadership from Excelsior College.

          CSM Symonette’s awards and decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medals (6th award), Army Commendation Medals (4th award), Army Achievement Medals (5th award), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, The Army Superior Unit Award, Iraq Campaign Medal a with Campaign Star, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with a Campaign Star, German Sch├╝tzenschnur Silver Badge, and Major General Horatio Gates Bronze Medal.

          CSM Symonette is married and has two sons.
