LTC Sean C. Raleigh

AFNORTH Commander

Lieutenant Colonel Raleigh is a native of Kentucky. He enlisted in the United States Army in 2007 and received his commission from Officer Candidate Schools (OCS) in the same year.

Lieutenant Colonel Raleigh’s previous assignments include Battalion S1, 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, Fort Wainwright, AK; Brigade S1 and Observer, Controller/Trainer (OC/T) for 158th Infantry Brigade, 1st Army Division East in Hattiesburg, Mississippi; HHC Company Commander, Allied Forces North Battalion (AFNORTH) SHAPE, Belgium; Brigade S1, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, and later Deputy G1, 10th Mountain Division; and as Executive Officer (XO) to The Adjutant General (TAG) of the U.S. Army. His combat deployments include one rotation to Baqubah, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as well as two rotations to Kandahar, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Most recently, he served as the J1 director of Manpower & Human Resources at Special Operations Command Europe (SOCEUR) in Stuttgart, Germany.

Lieutenant Colonel Raleigh’s civilian education includes a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management from Webster University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Oglethorpe University. He is a military graduate of the Adjutant General Basic and Advance Courses, Command and General Staff College, Airborne School, and Infantry Mortar Leader School. He is the recipient of the 2016 LTG Vollrath, U.S. Army Europe Human Resource Officer of the Year award.

Lieutenant Colonel Raleigh’s military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Service Medal, Distinguished Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with 4 oak leaf clusters, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal with 2 oak leaf clusters, Combat Action Badge, and Parachutist Badge.
